Hey you two. First I wanted to say you guys both give some awesome reactions and I both hope and can’t wait to see more from you. But I’m writing right now to help put you on game to both some supplementary and also, sometimes, necessary “extra” One Piece media and information you won’t have access to simply watching the anime. Much of this information is common knowledge to most One Piece fans who are caught up but that every reactor I’ve seen NEVER EVER gets taught about sadly, not until it’s too late. NO ONE is forcing you to read/watch all this information i will be providing NOR do I even think all of it essential to your One Piece journey. However mostly all of it is fun/funny content and some even give some MAJOR clue’s to the stories future, outright new information, or are plot connection points/threads that help explain/foreshadow future events to come more clearly. It’s at least good to know that these things exist. I know it looks like a lot but I really hope you do read all of this.

– In a nutshell this “Extra-Anime-Content” would be the

– 1) “Movies” – There are 14 currently. The first 9 are either just fun little new storylines or movie versions of older arcs you’ve already watched (Drum Kingdom movie, Alabasta Movie) with highly upgraded animation. The most recent 4 movies are definitely ‘need to see’ however and seem to add to world building and give glimpses of the future of the series, but you won’t be able to watch those for awhile so don’t worry about those, the fans will bring those up FOR SURE when you reach the point your able to watch those. Currently you’d be able to watch the first 6 movies, anything after that would probably be “spoilers”. The movies are not necessary to the story (until the very most recent ones) but are highly fun and worth the watch. It would be cool if you could react to the ones you missed, and, as the story goes along, watch the movies as they corresponds with where you are in the anime, so probably a new movie reaction every 100 eps or so. Here is a link to the first movie, not that this quality is bad or anything but there might be another site with better quality, maybe like Hulu or something idk,

(TLDR – Movies = Not Necessary yet but Recommended and Fun, especially when watching in tandem with the anime. Their are 14 so far and you would be able to watch the first 6 right now.)

– 2) “OVA’s , Episode Specials, and One Piece Extra’s” – The ‘OVA’s and Episode Specials’ are pretty much the same as above but in episode format not movie. Most are just fun little extra content/stories, remakes of older arcs in modern animation, or even episodes that tie in directly to movie/movie plots and give it more setup. None of these are essential I think except for something called “Episode 0” which you don’t have to worry about watching for a long while, but GUARAUNTEE the fans will inform you of Ep 0 when it comes time to watch it in the story.
– The “One Piece Extra’s’ are 5 minute long little funny nonsense stories of the Strawhats but in different world scenarios (Gangster World, Rpg World, Superhero world, or Magic World as opposed to ‘Pirate World’). None of anything in these categories are “necessary” material at all just extra content. However I personally really recommend watching and reacting to the ‘One Piece Extra’s’ (called “Omake” in Japanese”) they are self contained stories, SUPREMELY creative, EXTREMELY funny and entertaining plus each are super short. I think you can watch up to the “Gangster World” one right now”. Here is a link to the one of the “Extra’s” called “Report Time”, , it’s only 2 min long. This one isn’t set in an alternate world but still good.

(TLDR – OVA’s/Specials = Not Necessary except for “Episode 0” which won’t come up for a loong while.
– Extra’s/Omake’s = HIGHLY Recommended, Fun, SUPER SHORT to Watch as They Are Only Minutes Long, 5 min long or less usually)

– 3) “The SBS” is an ongoing Q&A Oda has had with fans in the manga since Usopp’s arc all the way back in East Blue. Some of the questions that have been asked and answered have been tantalizingly revealing or play a role in our speculations of the future. So far you’d be able to read up to around volume 29 or so of the SBS, beyond that could be potential spoilers.
I don’t think anyone will expect you to read the “SBS”, myself included, rather we will post or quote it when it has interesting information or information relevant to something we are discussing. We get A LOT of supplemental, explanatory, or revealing information from it about the One Piece world or its future. Fans usually keep each other informed of important information from the SBS and as you catch up to the story the SBS will be more and more of an important thing. The “SBS” contains information as silly as whether or not Luffy can stretch his private parts too and what Zoro’s swords would look like as humans, – to neutral information as to how old someone is, when their birthday is, what there favorite food is, what country they’d be from in real life, – to actual serious questions and answers like ‘what the secret of devil fruits are and just who might know in the One Piece world’. I’m POSITIVE that some of the information/details you’ve been given about the show from your fans who watch you have been from the SBS already.

(TLDR – The SBS = Not Necessary to read personally and in fact quite long to do so, but good to exists regardless, actually borderline necessary to at least know exists. Fans will probably keep you updated with the information in it as it relates to where you are in the story. SBS becomes more and more important and revealing the deeper along we move into the story.)

– 3.5) “Data Books/One Shots”, The One Piece ‘Databooks’ are small booklets containing all sorts of One Piece info and pictures sometimes revealing new information. Not necessary but definitely fun and informative and good to know exist. There are 5 in total so far. The ‘One Shots’ are stories Oda drew before One Piece, sometimes “proto-one piece’. This isn’t necessary yet or at all, but good to know about. And there’s a certain arc in the future where the “One Shots” will definitely be brought up by the fans to you for sure.

Whether the backstory makes sense or not, I still can accept it because the story is 400 years ago so whatever the old guy told, might not be accurate.

he is against human sacrifices. boy or girl… he would have done the same thing.
it just so happens that it was a girl.

actually… human sacrifices were usually girls. since they need men for everything.

Skypiea is such an underrated arc because people focus more on the fights and all (although that makes sense since this is still a shounen genre) but this storytelling is so amazing I cried so much when they showed that illustration of calgara with Norland!!

You are the first reactors that I watched that is so into the story, and finally paying so much attention to it. You guys are not just here to react for the sake of reacting to a good anime, but is getting immersed into the story as a whole. I can see you guys getting genuinely interested in the storytelling now. Yet you guys haven’t even reached anywhere in the whole One Piece story as a whole yet. Remember I had told you that it’s best for you guys to start taking notes, while from this point on I will suggest it once again. Start taking notes to remember what happens. Great reacting and keep up the great work.

I really like the contrast between the jaya of the past and jaya of the present. The past was a place of total faith with believers and human sacrifices and the present is a place only of logic where people with faith and dreams are mocked and ridiculed, two extreme opposites. One of the major themes of skypiea has been what the existence of god means and the faith or the lack of it. My fav lineof the arc is enel’s speech on god “It is not that people fear god, fear itself is god”

“The Sky People may be aliens” Aye not talking too crazy, but you guys are GONNA have to check out Enel’s adventure in Fairy Vearth that the anime didn’t adapt because that story is a HUGE game changer for what may be the series finale.
